Welcome to Dawson Winterim Registration

WINTERIM REGISTRATION WILL OPEN AT 8:00 AM FRIDAY, OCTOBER 10 and CLOSE AT 8:00 PM ON WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 15

A parent or guardian is required to be present for the online registration process and will be asked to read and sign a waiver during the checkout process.

For international trips: Students must have a passport valid through 10/1/2026. It can take up to 12 weeks to get a passport. Please start now if you need a passport.

Please read through the following information before you start the registration process:

Minimum number of Winterims a students must select and rank by grade level:

• • • 12th grade must rank at least four choices

    • 11th grade must rank at least seven choices. 11th grade may choose just five if only choosing local programs.

    • 10th grade must rank at least 10 choices - at least two of the 10 must be local or drive-to. 10th grade can choose just five if only choosing local programs.

    • 9th grade must rank at least 12 choices - at least five of the 12 must be local programs. 9th grade can choose only five if only choosing local programs.

    • 8th grade must rank at least four choices

    • 7th grade must rank at least eight choices

    • 6th grade must rank all 13 choices - at least four of the 13 must be local (unless you are choosing only local programs; in this case, you should rank at least four programs).

    
    Please follow these guidelines unless the cost makes participation unfeasible. Only register for programs you are prepared to cover financially. Students receiving financial aid will receive aid on their Winterim tuition, as communicated by Scott Schneider.

We highly recommend you use the Winterim selection form to organize your selections before you register. You can find the form on the Winterim Portal Page.

Online Winterim Registration Directions: It is helpful to read through all of the directions before you start.

1. To start, click “login” at the very top right of this page. You can use your login from last year or if you are new to the system, you can create a new login. If you have multiple students to register, you will be able to add additional students under your account. This account is not part of the Dawson portal. Use the "forgot password" to reset your account from last year if needed.

2. Next, add Winterim programs to your cart by clicking the "add to cart" button. It is helpful to add them in the order of priority, but you will also have the opportunity to re-order them in the next step. If you have two students who want to include the same trip in their selections, you will need to add two of that trip from the drop down.

3. Once you have added all Winterims to your cart, click the “cart” icon and “checkout”. There will be a large dollar amount in the cart at this point. This total WILL NEVER be charged.

4. During the checkout process, you will assign Winterim programs to students, prioritize the Winterims (drag and drop), sign a waiver, and enter credit card information.

5. Once you have submitted your final order, you cannot make changes, so please check carefully before you submit. You will have a large balance in your "cart" (this amount will NOT be charged). Once you complete the check-out process, your credit card will only be charged a $1.00 preauthorization fee. When the card has been validated, your selection process is complete, and you will receive an email confirmation. Please maintain this email as a record of your Winterim selections.

6. Our online program will automatically assign each student to a Winterim based on their lottery number, their prioritized Winterim selections, and available space for each Winterim. In early November, you will receive an email notification informing you of your student(s) assigned Winterim. At that time, your credit card will be charged the full price of the assigned Winterim* for each student.

*You will see a total dollar amount in your cart. You will NOT be charged this amount. You will only be charged for the Winterim your student is enrolled in after the final lottery is run.
